The effectiveness of using local exhaust ventilation, HEPA filter, and dental aerosol suction on indoor air quality

ABSTRACTIntroduction: The emergence of COVID-19 pandemic that occurred at the end December 2019 in Wuhan, China, was a health crisis greatly affected world. Therefore, dentists and dental nurses are professionals who have very high risk being exposed to droplets aerosol particles generated during procedures. Furthermore, they also cross-infection from exposure microorganisms blood, saliva, droplets, instruments contaminated with tissue debris. This study aims analyze effectiveness using exhaust fan wall/Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), HEPA filter, suction clinic Academic Hospital Gadjah Mada University. Methods: type research is analytical observational study. measured temperature, humidity, ACH microbial load 3 rooms Sadewa 1 RSA UGM September 2020, an method ANOVA determine effect LEV, filter clinic. Results: Dental equipped suction, negatively associated room humidity levels, Pearson correlation (-0.777), air correlated (0.242), but not large.
